Although in my personal practice I often enjoy challenging classes (with backbends and inversions!) I enjoy teaching a more accessible slower flow, striving for balance: spirit & body, strength & stretch, shapes & breath, asanas & mindfulness. My hope is that you step off the mat, refreshed/revitalized/energized, feeling stronger and more flexible.

I’M NEW HERE. DO YOU HAVE CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS?
Each class at SFYS is designed for most levels—whether you’re a first-time yogi or you’ve been practicing yoga for a while, you can get what you need from many of our classes. While we believe that Yoga is for EVERY BODY, we also understand that every class may not feel right for every-one. We offer a variety of options from heated, warm, unheated, slow, gentle, restorative, strengthening and mobility. We’ve listed helpful descriptions for every regularly scheduled class right here on our website. You can also find descriptions of all classes, workshops, events, and trainings on our app and in your client portal.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I GET TO THE STUDIO?
SFYS opens its doors 15-20 minutes before each class. And if you’ve never been here before, it’s a good idea to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of class so we can show you around and help you feel at home.
HOW DO I BOOK A CLASS?
Step 1: Download our SOUL FLOW Studio App
Step 2: Create an Account and Set Up your Login Credentials in the Client Portal
Step 3: Fill in Required Info + Sign Digital Waiver
Step 4: Add your C.C., Choose your Purchase Option, and Begin Booking Classes with us!
WHAT IF I’M NOT FLEXIBLE?
You don’t have to be! Yoga is more than just the physical postures (asanas) and we also understand that you may have goals or expectations that we would love to help you accomplish from a safe and informed place. Just as with anything, the more you continue to practice, the more changes you will begin to experience both on and off your mat.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY OR MEDICAL CONDITION?
Let us know and we can chat about all the anatomy things. We LOVE to geek out! We are here to keep you safe. You are in good hands. Make sure your teacher knows of any conditions or illnesses—we can help you with pose variations and modifications.
WHAT IF I’M PREGNANT?
Please make sure your doctor clears you for movement-based practices and/or heat, and let your teacher know so we can best answer any questions throughout your pregnancy.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR CLASS?
Please make sure you are hydrated before, during and after class, especially if you are taking heated classes. We recommend NOT eating too heavy a meal before coming to class. All the movement is sure to get your digestive system flowing too! *wink
If you’re new to SFYS, try to get here at least 10-15 minutes before your first class. That’ll give you enough time to tour our space, chat with your teacher, get your mat set up in the studio room, and meet your community.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?
You can practice as often as you like and in fact we love varying the week with a combination of dynamic and restorative options for maximum benefits. The choice is up to you, your schedule, and how you feel day to day. There’s no pressure, it’s your practice and your body and we are here to support you along your yoga journey, whatever that looks like. If you are just beginning a movement practice, starting with 2-3 days a week with something strengthening and something restful can create a wonderful balance to build a healthy routine.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT THE NEXT DAY?
If you are just getting back into or beginning a movement practice, odds are your muscles will feel a little somethin’, but isn’t that with anything in life? Give yourself a few classes to see how you really feel and try various ones to see what your jam is.
HOW LONG IS EACH CLASS?
Most classes are 60 minutes. Some specialty classes/workshops may be 45, 60, 75, or 90+ minutes. Check the schedule and read the descriptions prior to attending to be sure you are able, to commit to the allotted time. For the safety, respect, and peace of mind of every student + teacher, we lock the door once class begins, and it stays locked until we all come out at the end.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO CLASS?
Just yourself, your mat, and water. We have various props, hand towels, and cold spa towels at the end during savasana. We have extra mats in case you forgot yours, as well as water bottles for purchase or our water refill station. There is a designated changing area + our single restroom available. We do not have showers.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Anything that is comfortable to move and/or sweat in. Spandex yoga pants are NOT a requirement, but your clothing should allow you the ability to move your body in all ranges of motion.
CAN I EAT BEFORE CLASS?
We don’t suggest anything heavy. A lite snack, protein bar, or small smoothie may be okay if you are someone who needs sustenance first, but remember, as you are moving your body and all your digestive organs are moving too. What goes in, must come out or up, so be mindful. We recommend eating at least 1-2 hours prior to class or enjoying something after. Please listen to your own body, as every person is different.
CAN I DRINK WATER BEFORE CLASS?
Definitely. Hydration is important so please drink water anytime you need. Keep in mind that an overly full, liquid-y belly could get interesting during more invigorating practices, but we recommend staying hydrated before, during, and after practice.
WHAT TEMPERATURE IS THE YOGA STUDIO?
For classes utilizing any heat element, we keep the temperature at varying degrees depending on the style of class. You will see ranges in the 80’s, 90’s and a max of 102 degrees with added humidity. Please note the season and amount of people in the room will determine how the temperature feels in each class. We also monitor the temps throughout class and adjust accordingly. For unheated classes, we keep the room at a comfortable (not cold) temperature.
DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT?
You must be 14 years old or older to practice in any heated classes at SFYS and accompanied by an adult/parent/guardian if you are between the ages of 12-17. If you are under 18 years of age, you will need a parent/guardian signature on the waiver form prior to taking any classes at SFYS. Please email us or talk to us in person if you’re interested in bringing your child under 12 years old to a particular class.
DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?
Unfortunately, no. We have a designated changing area and a single use bathroom available.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN CLASS SCHEDULES CHANGE?
We stay pretty, consistent with our regular class schedule. Any permanent changes will be communicated in advance on our app, website, social media, in-studio community board, newsletter, and in your client portal. Any temporary cancelations or modified schedules for holidays or unforeseen emergencies, are directly communicated through your client portal and on our social media pages. Throughout the year we love offering *POP-UP* classes and Specialty Events, providing a plethora of ways to learn, grow, and get connected.
